16 to 19 Tuition Fund Statement of Intent
We have received funding from the government to help to support students and mitigate disruption to learning arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will be available for the 2020-21 academic year only and must be used in that time.
We will be using this funding to support Y12 and Y13 students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or maths at GCSE.
We will be prioritising those students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) where appropriate.
This tuition will be in additional timetabled GCSE English and maths lessons with specialist subject teachers, and will be in groups of no more than 5.
Tuition Support offered will be based on an individual needs assessment, the identification of an individual starting point, clear learning goals, expectations and outcomes.
Bespoke resources will be purchased for students targeted in the tuition catch up to support their learning.
Each session will be clearly planned with a topic or exam activity in mind so that it is as productive and targeted as possible. Evidence will be kept of student attendance at the sessions and the progress they are making in light of this support.
This statement is in line with the Government guidance and we have published this statement to demonstrate how this additional funding will be utilised in the academic year 2020/21.This document may be updated to reflect any changes in ESFA guidance.
